Nymphs are one of my favorite mythical creatures, and so are mermaids...
wait, whats this stroke of madness? A water Nymph? Half man half fish but with all the human limbs?
Water Nymphs: Amphibious creatures they survive on fish, crustacians, and various other marine life and plants. They are roughly human size ranging from 5'4" to 6'6" and weigh from 100 to 175lbs. They live from 100 to 150 on average, and have a shorter childhood, and elderly phase. 0-8 childhood 15-20 teen 21 fully developed 100 would be "over the hill" and after 130 they are elderly. They swim through the ocean with their webbed hands for increased speed, and breath underwater with the gills in their neck. They have scales on the outer portion of their skin including legs arms and the sides of their torso and face for protection and streamline movement underwater. Their nails are longer, black, and are very sharp for killing fish. Their hair is made out of the same material as thier nails and is deep ebony, as they age their hair turns white. Most do not cut their hair so they have many shades darkest on the end. Their eye's sclera is Black instead of white, the iris colors are yellows, blues, greens, and shades of black, the cornea is black. Their ears are longer and sometimes have a thin webbing around them for turning. the noses are smaller and shallower. The teeth are like humans, with larger canines. The tounge is longer by about a half an inch on average. Nymphs also secrete a thin film over their skin and webbed hands to help seal in water when on land. This warm film is invisible and can be secreted from the hands in excess ammounts on command for medicinal benifit (it also has value as a aphrodisiac and it feels fantastic when on the skin I.E. penis) They are all female, and reproduce with human males. They have all the same organs as humans and the same genitalia as human females. They have a Yy chromosome that determies gender. They get the y from their human fathers, and the Y from their nymph mothers. The human y chromosome is recessive and is only passed onto their human male children, and the Y nymph cromosome is passed onto their female nymph children only. It is unknown how exactly the cells always are Yy and yx instead of Yx. The nymph traits such as the scaly skin and webbed hands are dominate traits passed on only to the females. The fathers traits are passed onto the sons. They mate with human males either by marying or seducing them. In legend they were seducers and told to steal men away from their wives. Though they still do (in some cases) many have assimilated to human society. They have a stereotype to by nymphomaniacs (lame pun hu?) and while many are permiscuous they usually respect marrages, while the younger nymphs are quite shy when they first meet humans and are slow to try and befriend humans especiall males. Most Humans hold Nymphs in contempt and fear. Human women especiall hate Nymphs if they dont know them personally. Though this trend is drecreasing in recent years. They are mostly anti-social creatures living alone or with a few human or nymph friends or family. The homes of nymphs are often in underwater caves, near cliff faces, or in thick kelp forrests, tho they are known to build homes under or above the water. Some form small tribes that trade with human cities and are most renowned for their pearls, and deep sea jewls they find (less renowned for their aphrodisiacs). They have a great love for treasure and almost all have a necklace given at brith. Some keep only this necklace, while others add earings, bracelets, ankelets, toe rings, and other jewls around their neck or in their hair. They wear little clothing while in the water to limit movement. Out of water most dont wear any extra clothing as they rarely meet humans. Those that do associate with human society often have elaborate outfits or exotic clothing, and latest fasions. They try to fit in with society and often take second names for life with humans. True friends or lovers learn the name their true name.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have you ever wondered what something meant as far as Photography goes? Things like "Cable Release", "AEB", "C-41", "Neutral density filter", and "Polarizer"?
